Grab our MINI Cinematography Course for ONLY $27! www.thefilmmakerscode.com/join-tfcc The RED Raven, albeit a fairly old DSMC2 Brain, it's still an absolute beast of a camera. However, there are many things that you need to know before buying a camera like a RED, which is what we'll cover in today's video! Is The Red Komodo X Worth It? (You'll be surprised)
Nikon already created an adaptor for the Red Cameras many years ago, if they are smart they'll bring those back and make Z mounts and continue to make Sony and Canon mounts too. We shall see...
Hahahaha great stuff!
You forgot to colour the American teal & orange. ;)
I’m glad someone said this! Drives me crazy watching movies these days! I can’t believe how much better this was done in UA-cam even!
Nah that Seoul Style of Korea.
I think you misunderstand iso on red. dsmc2 red cameras only have one density level of "analog iso". Changing the iso in camera or in post is simply changing the mid gray point.
the rapid fire jujitsu cam cuts had me DYING. as an aspiring filmmaker you have earned a like!
Awesome 😭🤝🏻🫡
Why the NYFA tshirt though?
i hope can make a fight scene with you one day
Can we just appreciate the fight choreography tho, looks like something out of a movie
I’m sure I can start we a red camera if I want to! There’s no limit if you down to learn! Don’t like the fact of you telling ppl not to get a red if you are a beginner! It’s 2024! Even a kid can learn anything! 😅
I love my Red Raven
yo thanks, this'll level up my stick figure fights a bunch, thanks again lol
6k is pretty much for punching in and editing
Excellent work!
What is the difference between pro, hd2000, hd4000?
Teal*
4:13 Especially in flip flops, impressive!
The best video I have seen on this stuff, and exactly what I was looking for, my friends and I are wanting to make a fight scene with Hong Kong style gritty action and this will be a great help! Thank you!
Fun ! But please don't spread your fingers when doing wu sau, tan sau, etc...they can get snapped individually. Keep them packed together side by side with no gap between them...they are less susceptible to attack or damage. :)
I really needed this, thanks Will!
Nice display of clinch fighting and really cool finish.
Thank you! Joe did all the clinch fighting choreo ^ he's an insane fighter!
Why did he drop the memory stick so far away from himself when he tried to smash it? This seems inconsistent with how good a fighter he seems to be, and the dialog makes no sense.
Don’t think about it to hard
I see the Donnie Yen MMA influence. Also love the use of stand-up grappling/clinching. Don’t see that much in more choreographed fight scenes.
Glad you noticed! My buddy Joe did all the grappling choreo while I did the striking choreo
dayum bruv. this is awesome ❤🔥❤🔥💥 imma steal these moves for my ideas
Thank you! Do it man, copy it all if you want 😂
Did you shoot this scene with RED Raven??
We did, came out a little grainy, but hopefully it wasn’t too distracting
@@TheWillTran It looks great, man!
I love being the generic dubbed over bad guy!! Also 1:24 is my favorite scene
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed ^^^
this is insanely cool, how does this have so little views??!!
American movies do not have that much style when it comes to shaky cam
"saving" is interesting, we always say "intentional" when a light is being killed
I’ve been struggling to animate my own fight scenes, but this video definitely gave me some ideas on how to get started!
Am I recognising a Ip Man fight scene? Nice vid bro!
Hahahah, Ip Man influenced, thank you!
What movie is this
Stuck between the Raven, Varicam 35 and Sony F55 all similarly priced used
Went with the Raven ❤ found a body only unit with the expander i/o for $900 , was $1500 but I lowballed the offer on ebay 😭👍
@@Calgothitswhat a bargain!!! congrats
Very helpful ❤
Glad this helped 😎
Dope camera! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
Looking forward to the complete project for that knife fight pre-vis!
It’s gonna be a good one!
good job
sick
great work man really feeling the wing chun
Thanks man! Wing Chun has always been one of my favorites ^^^
This was incredibly helpful, definitely needs more attention!
Thank you! I’m glad this helped you out 😎
Great channel
Let’s go!!
I love the choreography! Well done! 👍
Thank you! Keep on the lookout for more 😎
I think if people started laughing at my film if its not supposed to be funny, i might cry lol
That’s what I ran into a lot whenever I was in those classes. A lot of people have a very “meme” mindset when it comes to film school. People laugh at things when they shouldn’t laugh. Admittedly, sometimes things aren’t executed that well, and it comes off funny, but that’s something film school should teach, how to make something not look amateur
I just picked up a DSCM1 camera in the Epic Dragon and again the control over compression was a big reason why. Also the Red Raw still to this day is a level of control that is rarely matched.
brilliant video, learned a lot for someone who’s never been behind a camera
Glad this helped!
You literally condensed a rabbit hole of research into 11 minutes thank you!!
For sure! I’m glad this helped 😎
Nice camera, man, but let me tell you that number 4 and number 5 in your list would be first and second in mine.
